Last Saturday we decided to go on the Deep River Hike with the Cub Scouts. Jack asked Mom to come along, and Dad decided he was up to a nice "walk" in the woods, so he came too. Bryan was down at Purdue cheering on our Boilermakers (it was a happy, happy day in Lafayette as Purdue BEAT Michigan!!!). Registration started at 8, so our goal was to leave the house by 7AM. Early for a Saturday :). In true "Johnsen" fashion, we left at 7:40. Luckily, traffic cooperated, and we were there in plenty of time. (It helped that the hike started at 9!)

Deep River Park is BEAUTIFUL this time of year!
Oh - did they (boy scouts) tell you that your walking stick is your "stave" - not your "staff"? Your "staff" are the people who work for you. I learned that when Bryan was a scout.
